  • Brilliant! I would love to have one of these except I pretty much walk everywhere. I don't even use my stupid bike. Damnit!
  • I am a Locust Point resident and Screwballs is my new favorite destination for evening walks after dinner (or, I'll admit it, before dinner). The ice
  • I heard from someone who went and said he sampled three different flavors - blueberry, ginger, and honey lavender - and said that they were all great.
  • I just stopped in to screwballs 2 days ago. They opened this past weekend. Spoke with Kathy and Irene, they said for now they are open Tuesday-Sunday

HampdenFest | 09.11.2010 @ 11:00 am

HampdenFest is the annual one day street festival in the historic, artistic and charming neighborhood of Hampden.  This annual festival raises money to support the Hampden Family Center, The Hampden Community Council and the local arts of the region.  HampdenFest spans five block of W 36th St. plus two block of Chestnut Ave. and features more than two hundred artist vendros and 75 musical groups while showcasing our more than 100 independent shops and boutiques.

This year's festival will feature four stages (instead of our traditional three) of music and will expand to include two blocks of Chestnut avenue for the Cherity Toilet Bowl Derby Races.  The CTBDR is a new fun idea that involves using toilets (being donated by the loading dock) built into creative go-carts and raced in a two block down hill course for fun and prizes.  Entry fees for this event will be donated to a yet undisclosed charity.  The CTBDR is designed to attract more media and more attendance to the festival.  There will also be the Second Annual HampdenFest Film Fest.  We are expecting record crowds this year.
