Ray Carrier, a resident of Charles Village, wants everybody in town to know that he has just opened a new retail store where he is introducing affordable attractive low speed Motorino electric scooters to the city.
His Green Rider store is located at 723 South Broadway Street near the Broadway Market in the heart of Fells Point, on the edge of the Inner Harbor and downtown area.
“Green Rider will play an important role in making Baltimore into an environmentally conscious city, and help reduce air, water, noise and climate pollution, along with decreasing congestion and parking problems,” says Ray. “Our vehicles require no gasoline at all for fuel - they’re quiet, clean and Green. We’ll provide an inexpensive, affordable alternative form of transportation for people who want to save more money by switching to using an electric scooter as a substitute for a car, SUV or truck for travel over short distances in the city and suburbs.”
Recent studies show that when the average person gets into a car to drive, 50% of the time it is only to travel distances of 5 miles or less. It is on these short distance trips when people really waste the most money by burning up their fuel, causing the greatest wear and tear to their engines, and emitting the most pollution into the environment. He noted that with the Sustainability Plan recently developed for Baltimore, the City is poised to switch to the rising inevitable global movement and trend of going Green.
Green Rider scooters can travel up to 50 miles before needing a recharge, making them ideal for commuters, students and most adults for getting around short distances to take care of their errands. For those who want to go shopping, sporty cargo carriers are also available to be latched onto the back wheels. These scooters can be fully charged from any ordinary electrical outlet in about two to four hours, costing consumers just a few pennies for fuel instead of them having to spend $25 to $50 to fill up their gas tanks.
No insurance, license registration or inspection is required to ride these low speed mopeds (maximum speed: 30 mph) in the State of Maryland. All that is needed is a driver’s license and a helmet. They can be parked on sidewalks like bicycles, saving consumers time and the expenses and hassles of running a car. An added incentive to buy them now is the fact that the new 2009 US economic stimulus act provides for a 10% tax credit for buyers of these vehicles.
The four Motorino models currently available are priced between $2000 and $2300, making them affordable to practically everybody including those with lower incomes who can’t afford to buy a car. To encourage people to check them out, a special offer for rentals to do test rides or for just touring the city is priced at only $25 for 2 hours, with a maximum fee of $50 per day, making this an ideal way for individuals or couples to have fun zipping smoothly around town on them, and these first day fees will be refunded if renters then decide to purchase a vehicle within the next 30 days.
Green Rider is selling Motorino electric scooters that are considered the state of the art for light electric vehicles (LEVs) today. Ray spent more than a year conducting research and doing product comparison and preparation work in China, Canada and the USA while trying to locate the best products in their class and price range on the North American market. He is convinced that Motorino products should be rated #1 because of the superior quality control standards (in contrast to those of all other similar products manufactured in China), their ability to efficiently ride up hills, and agile performance.
Motorino electric vehicles are designed and developed by Steve Miloshev of Greenwit Technologies in Vancouver, Canada, and engineer and scientist who has been in this business since 2002 and has been constantly making improvements and modifications. During the past couple of years these types of products have become very popular and are selling like wildfire there, and his rapidly growing E-Ride chain of sales outlets is now the most successful in Canada with 25 dealers.
Ray Carrier’s vision for the future is to help bring about the transformation of Baltimore into a city of Green Riders where we will see fewer cars crowding its busy streets. He hopes to encourage people to switch over to a new alternative lifestyle mode of traveling over short distances that is likely to become the wave of the future in transportation.
Baltimore could improve its reputation by becoming the Green city on the East Coast of the USA that leads the way converting its residents into becoming green riders who know how to save a lot of fuel money in their personal transportation budget by using electric scooters for most of their short distance travel around the city and suburbs. All while creating a more affordable, stylish and fun personal transit option.
