When: 10.06.10 | 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Anna Quindlen, Pulitzer Prize winning author and opinion columnist, will be the featured speaker at the event. The Honorable Catherine O’Malley will join Richard Barth, Dean of the School of Social Work, to offer opening remarks followed by a panel discussion.

Panelists will discuss the traumatic effects of abuse on children and their parents, and will bring new insight into interventions to help children, teens, their parents and communities end this epidemic of violence.

The symposium, held in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, follows in the wake of the tragic deaths of Yeardley Love and Betsy Sue Riggin – both young women were brutally murdered by their boyfriends last spring.
