Staying FitWe’ve all heard about economic stimulus plans, which can be great for fattening up your wallet.
I don’t know about you, but with summer right around the corner, my wallet is the only thing that I’d like to see get fat. That’s why I am proposing an “exercise stimulus plan” – not only to kick start your exercise program and promote healthy living, but a fun way to decrease stress and increase energy. So, give yourself a break from balancing your checkbook, pull yourself away from the Business Section, and start balancing a new exercise and fitness routine. The returns can’t be beat!

Give it Some Group Effort!
Starting a new workout routine can be intimidating, so why not try to look at it like a social activity? Group fitness classes such as cycling, kickboxing, and yoga are a great way to burn calories, build strength, and stay motivated, while meeting new friends. Bars aren’t the only place to socialize!

Put your Best Foot Forward
Grab a buddy and explore Charm City- there are so many overlooked sites to see! Give your TV a break and hit the road to get a firsthand look at all of the historical haunts around town. If you’re in a hurry, look into joining a running club. Most clubs are open to all fitness levels and are a great way to take in the scenery, while burning major calories.

Leave it to a Professional
Whether you’re looking to ease into a new program or spice up your workout routine, meeting with a trainer is a great way to maximize your potential and achieve your goals. Are you on a budget? Look into small group training, which is often more affordable than one-on-one training. Many gyms even offer free introductory sessions or fitness evaluations where you can discuss your goals and map out the program that’s best for you.

Jump on the stimulus bandwagon and make an investment in your health. It’s the best way to pull through in these drastic times.
